Student Clinic Policies
Pregnant Clients:At this time, we do not provide massage services to pregnant individuals. This decision allows us to maintain a focus on general massage techniques while ensuring client safety and minimizing potential risks in a student learning environment.
Client-Student Pairings:Client-student pairings are determined by the instructional staff. These pairings are designed to meet the educational needs of our students and cannot be customized or changed at client request. Students also do not select their clients to ensure fairness and focus on their learning.
Open or Cracked Skin:Clients with open wounds, cracked skin, or other skin conditions that pose an infection risk should wait until fully healed before scheduling an appointment. This policy helps protect the health of both clients and student therapists.
Illness Policy:If you are experiencing symptoms of an illness that can be transmitted through the air or on surfaces, such as a cold, flu, or COVID-19, please reschedule your appointment. This ensures the safety and health of all clients, students, and staff.
Deep Vein Thrombosis (DVT) or Elevated Risk of Blood Clots:Clients with a history or elevated risk of DVT or blood clots are not eligible for services in the student clinic. Massage in these cases requires specialized care that falls outside the scope of our student training.
Severe or Contagious Skin Conditions:Conditions such as active rashes, infections, or highly contagious skin disorders may prevent us from providing massage. Please consult with a healthcare provider and reschedule once the condition has resolved.
Minors:Minors under 18 years of age must have written parental or guardian consent to receive massage services. A parent or guardian may also be required to remain on-site during the session.
Contraindicated Conditions:Certain conditions, such as uncontrolled hypertension, recent surgeries, or acute injuries, may require postponing your massage until you have obtained medical clearance. If in doubt, please consult with your healthcare provider and notify us before your appointment.
Timeliness and Attendance:Please arrive 10 minutes before your scheduled appointment time. Late arrivals may result in reduced session time or rescheduling. If you need to cancel, we ask for at least 24 hours' notice to allow others the opportunity to schedule.
Respect and Conduct:We strive to maintain a respectful and professional environment. Any inappropriate behavior or conduct will result in the immediate termination of the session and possible exclusion from future appointments.
